THE PROCESS

Business books are fine and dandy, but people don’t want to read instruction manuals, they need stories to give context, meaning, and emotion to the lessons. Chuka was already an experienced public speaker, and it was our job to convert his business method into an entertaining book while interweaving his teachings with personal stories. Over the course of multiple phone calls we discussed his business, his childhood, his mistakes, his successes, his mentors and muses, and his expertise. The book is intended to be motivational so we embedded multiple quote pages throughout the book which featured striking photography alongside inspiring quotes from famous figures as well as Chuka. The quote pages and pulled quotes added to the overall visual attractiveness of the book and greatly improved the reading experience. We hired celebrity book designer Bobby Birchall who has worked with BBC, Bear Grylls, and Penguin Random House to create a sleek, on brand, and effective layout to bring Chuka’s story and expertise to life.
