CUSTOMER’S OBJECTIVES

▶ Produce a book from scratch to introduce a disruptive technology to an old world industry.

▶ Work closely with the founder to edit, illustrate and design the book in under four months.

▶ Print a small print batch of advanced readers copies for startup’s customer and user conference.

▶ Inspire leaders in the industry and prospective customers to be interviewed for the book.

THE PROCESS

After a basic outline was prepared, the founder dictated the entire book via ten interviews with the Raab & Co. team. Using this transcript, as well as various pre-existing videos and presentations created by the company, a draft was compiled and revised collaboratively online. Raab & Co. worked with the company’s data scientists, marketing team, legal counsel, and event coordinators to ensure that the book and language were in line with company standards. Raab & Co. brought on a fact-checker and research assistant to add footnotes throughout the book so that each claim was supported with substantial and reputable claims from top sources. The best of this research was illustrated in full color throughout the book. We also contracted an artist to create a cover illustration that encapsulates the startup’s technology.

“The book has stimulated curiosity that has really elevated the types of conversations we have not just with customers, but
with thought leaders throughout the industry who want to be part of a movement and not just a movement to buy a product.”
